I personally would like to see EA recreate a worldbuilder for red alert 3 based on the one released for red alert2/yuri's revenge because it was simple and fun for everybody get used to and make maps so that would be so cool if EA could make one like that again at somepoint

Looking at the lockbase building style the RA3 has, I kinda want someone to revive Wintermaul from Warcraft 3 for RA3.

Given that RA3 works on a tile system, I think that might be a possiblity... If not, something close to it.

Well, I personally would like to see something with more flexibility, like how the TW editor is. It really isn't hard to make maps with it, which makes it pretty user friendly.

i prefer it to be more or less like gen/cnc3/kw since it took me a while to get used to it and now that im used to it its pretty easy to make maps. I plan to make a video tut when the wb comes out presuming it it like the other wbs

Sorry guys it's just not going to happen, from what I see (how the maps have been setup) they have cliff objects where the cliffs go, and the ground is just adjusted to meet the same height as the base of the cliffs, while this is made to mimick the way old, tile-based games were done, it really isn't truly tile based. Really the only part of the game that actually uses tiles are the buildings. All the objects and such are placed freely in the world. Along with the addition of all the small props used now, a map editor made as the RA2/YR one was done would just not be possible. There's also the fact that this making the editor like it would be in an older 2d RTS game would remove a lot of the control that skilled mappers have over their maps. Anyway, EA are just handing out the tool they used to make the game, which is definately not what you are describing.

okay i voted, it doesn't make sense for ea to make a world builder simular to ra2, the stuff from ra2 has dramastically changed in ra3.

As RA3 uses the sage engine (as C&C3 and Generals) Worldbuilder will be similar, however as RA3 has a grid based system it will have that in common with Final Alert 2: http://www.cncworld.org/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-994

The game has already been made so you can't change the world builder now, personally i never found it hard to adjust to any of the software.

It looks like it could be possible as the maps look similar in structure to RA2/YURI, but I doubt it will actually be possible to recreate a final alert 2 interface and simplicity.
I would love it if they could as I'd know I'll be able to use it then

Even though I liked the RA2 map maker, I prefer the TW one, if EA fixes the massive RAM leak (or make it so it doesn't lag a pc, even when it's a high-end one)...

Dutchy! You're here. Anyway I would prefer if it was like TW's/KW's only without the long load times.

Yes, just made an account here. Let's hope these forums don't end up like the old C&C forums

It is going to be almost identical to the CNC3 WB as already mentioned.
Personally, I just hope there will be some kind of new cliff tool to allow easy creation of all these plateaus / docks now. It's rediculous to adjust terrain height and attach the cliff objects all by hand.
ah, and I hope they delete obsolete stuff. It was annoying to have all those BFME script commands and function that didn't work any longer.
