I'm sure they would still be "useful" if they were only as good as the patch said they would be. right now they are about as "useful" as shoguns used to be. (ie you build a few of them and you cant lose)

I've used them effectively in 1.10 aswell. The poor japaese player didn't know what to do and was screaming at me: HOW DO I COUNTER IT BTW it was only 1 AD with a bunch of infantry I've used on snow plow. 90% of the players turret push on that map so they could even dream of doing anything original

He probably does scout, he just wants to have his build-order down before that thirty-second time delay. He also doesn't wanna be forced to build a barracks. I understand, since I'm a soviet player and I sometimes wf rush.

We are aware of the problem. Please see APOC's official post about the situation:
"Hey guys,
So it turns out this was an unfortunate XML error in the patch, we're fully aware and are going to make every effort to fix it as soon as possible. Due to the 4th of July Holiday weekend, we are unable to acquire all the deploy resources to put a patch out this week. So it will not be fixed this week, unfortunately. Apologies for that but the timing isn't great.
This balance error is impossible for us to monitor and control as its a simple balance exploit that can be abused easily. While we can't tell everyone to please stay away from using the Assault Destroyer in such a fashion, we do politely ask that you refrain from exploiting it as such.
I will let you guys know next week what the outlook is for a hot-fix. The fix is a simple XML modification, as many of you would know, but we will need to go through all of our STEAM, MAC, etc deploy channels to get it out, which is what takes some extra time.
Apologies for this error, we'll address it as soon as possible next week.

I found out that if you have a naval army and there are a mass of akulas attack it and there is a small island, you could put an assult destroyer on the island and use it's ability to attract all the torpedoes to the AD but instead it hits the island causing no damage done to your units or the AD and stopping all of the akula attacks. I also found out that the black hole armor even draws in the akula's ability.

Hotfix as RA3 patch 1.12.... Very much a small task but still a big download just for that fix.
Will there be "Custom Maps" section in RA3 patch 1.12? Please???? Some people are waiting to play real-time SP custom mission maps.
