Nyerguds Industries Proudly Presents:

Get it here

Nyerguds Industries Slightly Less Proudly admits that the main fix in this patch is for a crash caused by his own modifications to add the new Snow theater. A hotfix was already released to deal with this problem, but with this new release the actual 1.06 patch is stable without needing any additional updates.

Full changes list:
-Fixed a crash that occured on temperate/winter/snow maps when showing the tree type 'T13' on the minimap after saving the game
-Assigning unit teams to numbers (with [CTRL]+[number]) now works for the number 0 too, like in the DOS version
-The box that appears in network games when the game tries to (re)connect to players is now centered in high resolution
-Fixed the fact that the "Start New Game" function crashed the game if either of the campaign starting missions had no starting videos configured in the mission file
-The Funpark launcher program no longer triggers virus scanners (it was never actually a virus though)

Quick overview of the older features:

Revision 1:
-Funpark savegames no longer ask the Nod CD. They can now be loaded with all C&C CDs
-The patch now adds all files needed to utilize the No-CD mode in the configuration file conquer.ini

Original 1.06b
-Full language changing is implemented: you can now play the game in English, German, French and Spanish, and even get translated mission briefing text and ingame voices
-The original unused Nod-specific map and score screen music is added to the game
-The Red Alert 1 snow theater has been added for mission making
-The unique missions from the Playstation and Nintendo 64 versions of C&C are added to the game, and the Playstation's hidden 'PATSUX' mission even has its upgraded Orcas
-No-CD controls are added to the conquer.ini configuration file, so you don't have to mess around with shortcuts with command line parameters anymore
-For the people who are tired of starting each mission with the Act On Instinct theme, several music options allow you to change the way the game chooses the starting theme
-Loading Funpark (dinosaur) campaign savegames no longer gives problems when continuing to the next mission

Older upgrades in 1.06/1.06a:

-High resolution available through CCSetup.exe
-Covert Operations added, and playable with any C&C CD
-Up to 6-player LAN available
-Dinosaurs are always visible
-Special beta options added to a new [Advanced] section in conquer.ini
-Skirmish play available by starting a LAN game without human players but with AI players enabled
-The ability to easily choose one of four LAN game modes by clicking on the "Bases" button

I've got two questions for you Nyerguds:
-How old are you?
-For how long have you been hacking/modding C&C?

I'm almost 25 (birthday's the 14th of December), and I've been modding C&C1 since, um, around 2001 I think. Though I had been making missions and stuff for the game long before that.

Of course I've been editing game.dat (in DOS C&C) from the moment I got my hands on an editor for it, but that was mostly just for messing around with prices and weapons. I'd hardly call that modding

All my early modding was done on DOS C&C... I only got C&C Gold in August of 2002.

IMO, my modding only started once I found out how to use the Mix Manager tools to convert graphics.

As for actual hacking... um, not that long. My first conversations about disassembling (with pd) were in july 2007, though that was ages before I did any hacks myself. My first acquaintance with hacking-to-fix-the-game were VK's 1.05 patch and Komfr's stealth crash fix, quickly followed by the original hi-res hack, which Komfr actually developed in the comments thread of the 1.05 patch, here.

The first hacks I actually did myself were halfway in October 2007, when me and Hyper figured out the code behind the special options in C&C95, which we found thanks to Rambo at CNCNZ.

Later, around 15 november 2007 I ported VK's "C&C95 v1.05" fixes to the German and French C&C95.exe. After that pd gave me his handy assembly tool, and I used it to port the hi-res patch to the German and French C&C95 too.
