If you are seeing an Error message: Direct3D error 0x0x88760827 (E_OUTOFMEMORY), or other D3D error (for example (D3ERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR), please try the following:

1) Make sure you meet the minimum requirements for the game. Please note that Vista 64 is not supported:
http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=19435

2) Try the troubleshooting on this FAQ:
http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8697

3) Make sure you have the latest version of Direct X
http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/olh_adp.php?p_faqid=10720

4) End your background tasks before playing the game:
http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/olh_adp.php?p_faqid=10700

If these steps do not resolve your issue please post the exact error message you received, as much information about what you were doing in game when you encountered the error as possible, and the game mode you are playing.

Please also include a brief summery of your System Specifications (Operating system, Processor, RAM and Video card etc).

Hi, please help, I have just installed C & C Tiberian Wars and Kanes Wrath. When I play both games in Skirmish as I'm just getting used to the game during the game it will crash with the following error:

Direct3D error 0x0x88760827(D3ERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR 13 Addresses then loads of numbers etc.

I have followed all the guides and advice, upgraded all the graphics and board drivers, unloaded all unnessesary apps etc. but it will let me play for some time then without warning it crashes not in any particular part of the game but just about anywhere.

My PC is a AMD2800+ pro with 1GB RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 5600 Graphics with 256mb onboard RAM running Win XP Pro with Service pack 3.

I'm out of ideas now but I'm guessing it will be upgrading the Graphics card I guess but if anyone got any more ideas I'm waiting.

Thanks

This was a consistent error for me on my new PC.

The error:

Generally pops up within 10 minutes of starting any skirmish or multiplayer game; the message is not always the same, nor the same number of lines/addresses. This happens when hosting or joining, generally the same amount of time regardless which. A notable crash was precisely when a nuke dropped on the enemy base.

System:
Mobo: eVGA X58 SLI
CPU: Intel Core i7 965
RAM: 12GB g.Skill DDR3 1600 triple channel
HDD: g.Skill 128GB SSD
HDD: 2x Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB in RAID 0
Video: 3x XFX Geforce GTX 280 1GB XXX Edition, tri-SLI
O/S: Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium

I was looking at the error and decided the messages could suggest processor threads: I set processor affinity for CNC3EP1.exe to the first 4 logical processor threads rather than the available 8. This seems to avoid crashing, although it is now inconvenient to start the game and I am sure some things will not run as fast.

*edit* I still get the error once in a while but it is much more rare

I hope this helps resolve the issue for someone.

Direct 3D - error unknown. Screenshot posted above..

I get this happening at random intervals about every five to ten games apart. I've only played online for quite some time so I'm not sure if it happens in skirmish against the ai - but I don't recall it ever happening in skirmish; and I used to do that alot.

I am using the following;

ZT Systems laptop
Intel core 2 Duo 1.5 GHz
Vista Home Premium (XP SP2 compatibility mode)
2 gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
driver ver 7.15.11.6391 date 11/28/2007
foreceware ver 163.91
shared system mem 765mb

DirectX ver 10

Please help

No background programs were running.

Hi.
I got C&C 3, I have all the requirements needed, but everytime I click on the play button it comes up with an error message labelled
"DirectX Error" and saying in the message : "Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements, and that you do nat have hardware acceleration disabled in the Display control panel." I don't understand why it won't run, I have DirectX 9.0 Installed, and I have a video card that meets the requirements? Can some please help so I can resolve this problem!? I have been trying to get it working for 8 hours straight today!
Thanks

Hello, I am getting an out of memory error. I have a screen shot of the error I can send. It says Out of Memory 11 addresses and the first line is (unknown)(0):cncgame.date+36323 Debug:prestatic.Init+2306, there are several other lines all start the same and the numbers change after the first + sign, Debug is in alot but there is something about Memory pool and apt target also. I have been playing First Decade and Tiberium Wars 3 online for about a year and 1/2 and no problem. I received Kanes Wrath expansion pack in January and loaded it. Since then, I can play campaign or skirmish games on any of the CC games and they work fine, but if I try multiplayer/online (on any of the three games) and sign in the screen just sits there (after about 5 minutes it will give me the out of memory error). If I open the processes tab in task manager the memory usage just keeps getting larger and larger. If I try to exit it will lock up the screen and I have to end task. I went through all of EA's support stuff, my system does meet all the specs and I have Direct X 9.0 (I have a soundmax HD analog Audio Card, the driver for it si dated 1/15/2007 (I have not found a driver any newer). II use the XP firewall and when the games load they as to be added to the exceptions and they show there. I also used the uotrace.exe tool from the EA website and it says that my connection to the game server is excellent . I am not super techy but I can do what I am told, I would really appreciate any help I can get on this problem, I miss being able to play on line.
I ran the DXDIAG, here are the system and display and sound results; System Information

I am having a similar error to these people. I find it really odd that this whole post is ONLY people reporting the same errors over and over, and not one person has bothered to provide any answers.

The computer in question is:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
2GB DDR400 ram in dual-channel mode
Built by ATI Radeon X700 Pro AGP8x video
16MB cache Seagate SATA150 250GB hard drive
Windows XP SP3 with most current drivers and DirectX.

The game has played fine for over 6 months now. Then all of the sudden it will not start. It starts to load, and then just closes. I get an error saying "make sure you have directx 9.0 or higher installed. also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements, and that you do not have hardware acceleration disabled in the display control panel."

The only change was this occurred after I installed some software to monitor the temperature of the video card since ATI did not feel the need to include that option as part of the Catalyst Control Center for this video card for some reason. I also updated to the most recent video drivers and CCC.

I then once finding this problem uninstalled the monitor software as well as did a rollback on the video driver. Still getting the error.

Nogard666, did you try a driver reinstallation? I know people always say "reinstall your drivers" and such but it may be that the rollback did not undo the changes that altered your game's ability to load. Note this: do not constantly update your graphics drivers. If you installed catalyst 9.5 you just did yourself and your computer a big disfavor. The newer the driver the less it cares for older graphics cards and seeings as you had a high end card from around 2004 or 2005, the newer drivers do not even bother with them.

For one, catalyst 9.5 focuses mainly on the following aspects: ATI Crossfire, and performance issues with high end 4800 series cards (4870, 4890, and every 4800 X2 model) It is highly likely that the previous drivers you used had some features designed for the X700 that Catalyst 9.5 removed to decrease download size (or because the technology is old now) and is causing this error (it is highly possible that the features were removed in earlier Catalyst versions)**. The performance improvements such as "x% FPS increase in any game" really only apply to crossfire setups with many single card setups such as my Radeon HD 4850 losing FPS. I would suggest you fully uninstall the card, remove the drivers and install drivers appropriate for it that date back to the time when X700 was still "high end" (Catalyst 5.x) This way you insure that the drivers cater to your card and not to cards that you don't have. You are essentially running on ATI "generic" drivers as a bulk of the hardware features Catalyst 9.5 has is not designed for older cards.

** if you were already using a fairly new version of catalyst then your problem may be different.

Ok guys- i hate to tell it- but here is how it is:

these issues all have one thing in common: the videocard is pre Direct X version 9.0c.

I have kept quiet on my findings with this to try and find another solution- but the simple fact is: i am yet to find another one.

video cards that are older than either an nVIDIA 8xxx series videocard or the older RADEON 7-9xxx series videocards- although the manufacturers have mostly released updates for them- they have issues running Direct X 9.0c

i will keep this in short, simple terms: cards that predate the native 9.0c support simply will get these OUT OF MEMORY errors- and there is nothing EA can do fix the game- and Microsoft will simply tell you that the videocard does not support the Direct X api- so the only alternative is to fork out money to upgrade the videocard.

how do i know this?

i personally used to run into these issues with BOTH my older cards.

they are:
nVIDIA 7900 GTX
ati RADEON 9550 SE

if you bring up the back of the box specs- those are absolute bare minimum recommendations that was used on test machines with no other purpose than to play the games to test what bare minimum settings the game will even load at.

the first card i got that stopped getting these erros was an AMD RADEON HD 3850- which had native Direct X 10 support.

i now use a RADEON 4850- simply because i built a new, better pc

on holidays from these forums. May or may not come back. If i don't, then i shall see you all on the dark side of the moon

I installed this game today and when I try to load the game (the 1st box that pops up that says C&C 3 Tiberium Wars on your desktop) it gives me that same DirectX error that everyone is having and tells me to make sure hardware acceleration isn't disabled. Then it closes the program. This is a bit different then everyone elses issue because they can actually get in game.

Is an ATI Radeon 3100 able to support this game?

My system specs are:

ATI Radeon 3100
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.10 GHz
4 GB Ram
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

I did read somewhere that this game isn't compatable with 64-bit Vista. I went to compatibily in the C&C properties menu and changed the compatibility mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know a other way around this and why this is happening? Plz help!

EDIT: I also downloaded and updated DirectX 9.0c and checked my drivers to see if they needed updating, which they didn't.
