This patch is a MUST-HAVE for any C&C: The First Decade Owner!

http://www.commandandconquer.com/portal/site/cnc/article/detail?contentId=5609db4badbcd110VgnVCM100000100d2c0aRCRD

NathanCNC, with the help of other community members, has created an EPIC Patch 1.03 for The First Decade. This patch fixes many different bugs and adds a number of fixes to the game. Online play has been added to all of the classic titles such as Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert! You also no longer need the disc in the drive to play any of the games!

This patch includes EA’s official Patch 1.01 and Patch 1.02. If you already have these installed, the patch will recognize it, and only add the necessary Patch 1.03 changes.

This patch is unofficial, we cannot help with any specific Patch 1.03 issues, you are download this at your own risk. However, the patch has been used by hundreds of C&C community members, each reporting no errors with any Patch 1.03 specific changes. Thus, we felt the need to promote this at CommandandConquer.com!

Stand-out fixes include updating Red Alert to version 3.03, cleaned up video files to free up nearly a gig of hard drive space, and the integration of extra official Westwood maps from downloadable map packs. Online/LAN has also been fixed for Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, and Yuri’s Revenge. Manuals for all the games have been added with the patch, as well as registry entry fixes. This is just the beginning of all the additions the patch brings to the table!

To check out the full change list and download the patch, check out NathanCNC’s Unofficial Patch 1.03 website! You can also donate to him to help his efforts with the patch. His website contains full details on how to install the patch as well:

Versatile faction player. Yeah, like a Red Mage.

Whatever you do, don't vote for me for "Making Everything Look Like Pr0n" award in Nahilus's "CNC Forum Awards" in the "Off-Topic" section. I'm not like that! :'(

This patch is great.
A simple one fix solution for completing the first decade.

For anyone who is interested, I've got a userbar for The First Decade.

Hmmm. This patch is now officially in the CNC website when the patch is still unofficial by EA? WoW. Is this patch final?

Its unofficial because EA did not make it. EA does not have the resources to test every aspect of this patch at this time. We have heard incredible things about it, and no one has reported problems, I wanted to officially promote it on our website. Every C&C fan should be made aware of this patch.

Apoc I hope you realize how utterly pathetic this is. It took a committed C&C fan to dedicate his time and knowledge to fix all the problems that EA left in this retail product. Yet another epic fail by EA.

Not really, it shows that the community is still dedicated to a classic game/s

Always look at positives, negatives get you no where.

It just shows that EA knows no matter how buggy the state of their games are, eventually someone will get around to fixing it. Weather it's this patch for TFD or clanwars.cc picking up the slack in the RA3 ladder. Why pay your employees money to create a polished game when you can just rush it out the door and force dedicated fans to pick up the slack?

Might there ever come a German version of this patch?
It looks awesome but I cannot use it.

First of all Im not APOC, thanks.

Please point me to other websites that officially promote fan-made patches? We do this because we thought this dedicated fan deserved recognition for his efforts. The patch is excellent and we want to make sure everyone is aware of it.

We did not force anyone to make this patch. He did it out of love for the game, and we are showing our appreciation.

Why wouldn't you promote it? He fixed your broken game! For free! How lucky for everyone who paid money for this collection of games, expecting them to work out of box.

Wait just a second.... I think you need to cool your jets. EA promoted my unofficial patch because the wanted to, not because they are trying to get out of making one themselves. They are a very busy company, and TFD (and all the games in it) are old and "out of date". They have the 2nd decade to support and create. Sooner or later things will become obsolete.

If there isn't time or resources to release a working product, don't put it in stores with a price tag on it.
