I cannot play RA3 in its current status right now.
Game speed is too fast and units die like flies within seconds.

So I stopped playing RA3 and went back to play C&C3 where these two game options are available.

I hope they do this....

But i dont think game speed is the problem though...

Not having a “Game Speed” option is a big problem for casual players such as myself who cannot keep up with RA3’s fast unit kill speed.

I have played 50+ RTS games over the past several years and I can say confidently that RA3 has the fastest unit kill speed.
In RA3 units get killed 3 or 4 times faster compared to other RTS games such as AOE3, COH, DOW, BFME2, and so on.

Online players may feel comfortable with such game speed but the rest of the players (90% of them) will not be able to keep up.

I enjoy playing C&C3 mainly because I can adjust the game speed.
Otherwise it would have had the same problem.

I don’t understand why EA omitted “Game Speed” and “Handicap” from RA3.

I like RA3 and I enjoy playing it, but not being able to keep up with the fast unit kill speed is just too frustrating.
“Game Speed” option can help a lot with that.

I think its supposed to be that fast, maybe they use sum kind of auto gamespeed control feature i think.

CNC3 is faster if u put it on full speed, i remember that. Too fast yes.

It’s supposed to be that fast for whom?
Expert players or casual players?

Having one game speed is the same as having one difficulty level for the AI.
Can you imagine if they only had “Hard” or “Very Hard” difficulty level for RA3.
For expert players that would still be a piece of cake but for the rest of the players (95% of them) the game will be unplayable.

The same thing it true for “Game Speed”.
It may be fine for good players who play online but it is too fast for casual players.
That is the point I am trying to make.

C&C3 may be faster on full speed but it allows you to adjust the game speed as you like.
I play C&C3 on two thirds game speed and it is manageable for me.
So why can’t EA add game speed for RA3 is beyond me.

“Slow” is a relative term.
For you it may be slow just as “Hard” AI may be easy for you.

But for others it may be too fast.

The problem I am talking about is more related to fast unit kill speed.
In RA3 units die 3 or 4 times faster when compared to other known RTS games such as AOE3 or BFME2.
Game speed adjustment will slow down that speedy unit kill.

Of course I would prefer a new game option that doubles units/buildings HP in order to slow down the kill speed.
However, since that would be something completely new for the C&C serious then it makes more sense to ask for something that was omitted from RA3, and that would be the “Game Speed”.

I hope that clears it up.

well, i got used to the speed, i guess you just have to adept to changing gameplay :p

Try playing on Easy first, then increase the difficulty.

I got used to it after a while on this new PC (that is y i wasnt here for a while, buying Expensive PC )

why are you adding so many new maps and such but no multiplayer? and why no new 6 player maps? where exactly are all the fans screaming for new 1v1 maps? I don't see anyone.

guys, go here: http://eastore.ea.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage&SiteID=ea&Locale=en_US&Env=BASE&productID=110709700

click the 'system req' button.

so there will be 2 to 6 players multiplayer support? is this a mistake ?

whatever the truth is, i am 100% sure that they will unlock the multiplayer option some time after release, maybe after 3 or 4 months later. they won't let it be a single player expansion forever.

I am a decent AOE3 player.
I have played hundreds AOE3 Online games.
AOE3’s speed is slower than RA3’s.
I was also referring to the speed in which units get killed.
They get killed too fast in RA3 to the point that I am not enjoying the game any more.

well, i got used to the speed, i guess you just have to adept to changing gameplay :p

I tried very hard to get used to RA3’s game speed and I played many RA3 games.
I got used to it to some point but I am not enjoying that game speed that much.
I also get frustrated with many games too often because units get killed so fast that I don’t have enough time to micro them.

I can beat Normal AI in most games but even then games can be frustrating.
So I decided to stop playing RA3 for now.
However, I would like to go back to RA3 if only I could change the game speed or increase units HP so they don’t get killed so fast.

Are you sure your units aren't dying quickly because of the hard counter system and some one-shot one-kill units?

Avatar (until the C&C forum decides to wise up)
Fall of Heaven sig (until Red Alert 3: Uprising comes out)
Generals Zero Hour: Rise of the Reds sig (v1.0 and patches are out)
Rock Band Bass sig

Versatile faction player. Yeah, like a Red Mage.

Whatever you do, don't vote for me for "Making Everything Look Like Pr0n" award in Nahilus's "CNC Forum Awards" in the "Off-Topic" section. I'm not like that! :'(

As I already said – I can beat Normal AI.
The difficulty is not the problem.
I played many RA3 games and I just don’t enjoy the game that much because units get killed so fast before I can micro them properly.

That is part of the problem, but overall units get killed very fast even from units that don’t counter them.
If I could only decrease the game speed by 30% (like I do in C&C3) then I will have more time to micro my units and enjoy the game better.

To all you people complaining about no multiplayer... get over yourselves!

Do you have any idea how annoying the co-op style of RA3 is for the traditional fans of the series? I have never played a single command & conquer game online and never intend to do so.

so you know what? It's time for you guys to suffer and wait like we are now.

A few clarifications so it's all in one thread. First off, I made a mistake:

-Uprising WILL HAVE TRADITIONAL SKIRMISH MODE, so you will be able to play agianst the AI with the new units that have been added to each of the 3 factions. We're also adding a huge number of new maps. While this expansion add-on has a huge central focus on single player, we were able to incorporate traditional skirmish. See below for further explanation.

And now for some more consolidation:

-The Commander's Challenge which features over 50 different scenarios is very similar to the General's Challenge Mode. It is not, and I repeat not simply an achievement based mode. This is an entirely seperate component of Uprising comprised of over 50 different challenges which are almost like mini-missions with different objectives and challenges.

-While Red Alert 3 base game is still in its infancy, its important to us to continually give the game strong support with patches, tournaments, etc as it continues to evolve. Our objective with Uprising was not to quickly add a 4th faction to online play. We decided we would try something new and create a campaign expansion that delivered on exactly what many in the community asked for in our research - new UNIITS AND STORY. Uprising provides a continuation of the story line for each of the 3 factions, plus we’ve added a 4th mini-campaign which will be centered around the newest commando, Yuriko. We think you guys will really enjoy the Yuriko campaign and agree that it plays out like nothing you've seen before in a Command & Conquer game. While co-op nor multiplayer are not included with Uprising, we absolutely haven't forgotten our multiplayer audience and will have more info in the coming months ahead.

-Uprising will include a large amount of new multiplayer maps for skirmish play, which we will also make available in near future patches for the Red Alert 3 base game as well. That is pretty cool.

-Uprising will be available for digital download at first release through the EA Store this March, but please rest assured we are looking in to other distribution models which does include retail

-We have not determined the suggested retail price yet for Uprising, but part of the reason why we decided to become a digital download was so that we could pass some of the savings onto all of you out there. We realize that times are tough, so we are making sure that Uprising will be a great value and something that any Command & Conquer fan can afford. More on the exact price in the weeks to come.

-APOC

This is an epic fail apoc im sorry. Nobody wants to spend twice the money for the bundle of more missions and more multi player functionality. This is just plane stupid. Im sure in your research of what we want, nowhere did it mention releasing two separate expansions. Very very stupid in my opinion to make us buy two expansions. EA should make this add on free of charge.....

Again, unfortunately EA will $ucker people into buying this. EA should take their time like other companies "Blizzard E" AND release complete bug free games and full complete expansions. Enough of this half-a$$ BS that is going on.

I know it is not your fault APOC and you are just the messenger.

wat do u mean it is only £15.99 not double the money of the first 1
