Countering crane isn't hard at all, I think Soviets are far more deadlier when they don't use crane. The way I look at it, when 85% of soviet players go super reactor after their crane while expanding they're extremely vulnerable due to the fact that they're broke. And if you destroy the crane while he's teching up it puts him behind by a lot.

All they need is Bearspam to counter infantry unless I Dogspam, and there is no time for an Armor Facility. Its harder to counter when they just mass-expand than when they try to tower crawl, 4 Vindis takes down a nearby MCV surprisingly quickly.

If he tries to turret push, the first thing you should do obviously is take out the crane. Second the only thing he can now do is one tesla and one barracks which is pretty much gg if you have 4 vindis. Soviets barracks go down to vindis with complete ease and tesla coils only need 3 vindis.

While you're harassing him with vindis, pending on your money situation build a rax or just keep popping up mg turrets. I can't remember the last time I lost to a Soviet player trying to turret push me.

As I said, fast expand is more of a problem to counter.

Javs with a couple of PK's and dogs works quiet nicely at taking out expansions.

Sometimes said expansions are on the water, though.

I guess while he's expanding you should be expanding as well and get a naval yard up and get either riptides or dolphins. Or just cryo rush him.

The thing is that they are usualy not vulnerable at all aside the very start, since they build rax/defenses with the crane and later possibly a War Factory or an Airfeild.

And once they get the lame Super Power Plant unplugging their power is pretty much impossible.
