I get: The user hasn't registered this game, when I try to go online with Kanes Wrath.
It works with C&C3: Tiberium Wars, but not with Kanes Wrath.

When I look in the FAQ-trouble-thread (http://forums.commandandconquer.com/jforum/posts/list/339.page), the only solution suggested is the (horrible) EA webpage.
http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_li=&p_sid=-jQJ*Luj&p_sp=&p_faqid=19471&p_iid=0&p_created=&p_prod=&p_cat=&p_cv=&p_pv=&p_prods=&p_cats=&prod_lvl1=&prod_lvl2=&prod_lvl3=&cat_lvl1=&cat_lvl2=&cat_lvl3=&p_hidden_prods=&p_search_text=&p_new_search=&p_accessibility=&p_page=&p_lva=19471&nextlink=

So. I've registered the game and now I still can't play it online. Any suggestions or solutions?

On another note, these games have to be the worst I've ever experienced when it comes to easy access. First I install the games, then I have to register an EA account, then register the games on another webpage. I've been through three different register/management-sites, still can't play the *** games.

Oh, and the patching! Couldn't connect to the patch sites, so I have to find the files on a third party webpage through googling. Then it turns out the patches doesn't work.
Why? I turn to EA's webpage. No luck there, they don't even have the necessary patch files! Turns out I had to use swedish patches, since my game is in swedish.
Never knew you had to be a hacker to play a computer game..

ANYHOW, can anyone help me get online with Kane's Wrath? I'd be most grateful!

for future refernces: use this thread for your patching troubles. things like firewalls have a tendency of getting in the way. even a modem/router firewall will like to deny you access

as for the game not being registered part- i will knock heads with elearen to see if we can think of a solution. but for a faster solution- i would make a phone call to the EA technical support helpline. you can find it in the back of your manual.

Don't worry- over the phone they are a lot better at giving support

Thanks for the response!

I'm running my router as DMZ, so there are no closed ports what so ever. I'm wide open.

A good idea to call them, think I'll do that this afternoon. There is a swedish hotline number, which is good.
I read somewhere about the possibility to 'reset' the serial number.

Oh well, I'll post the solution here if I find one, for future reference atleast.

woah woah woah.

turn off DMZ. that causes more problems- and it leaves your computer vulnerable.

a better solution is to open the ports required to run the game online.

i have written a tutorial on how to do it here

I'm aware of the risks of running the router on DMZ-mode. Still, can't get Kane's Wrath to play.

Didn't call today, no time. Will try tomorrow.

if you read my thread you will find a good easy to follow solution.

i have tested DMZ mode myself- and it only caused problems on my end: the game would play online properly.

Apt this isn't the issue.

OP, was there a registration program that ran when you installed the game?

There was one for C&C3, I don't know about KW.

If there was but you skipped it, that would be the problem.

In the C&C3KW Program Files folder in the support section, if there is a registration program there, running it might help.

You should also check on the cd.

Otherwise, it seems something has gone wrong.

You may have to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Secondly.

a) what error message? lol. We can't do anything unless you tell us what the error is.

b) Please read the forum how-to-use guide and include the necessary information.
